Denmark-based Abacus Medicine, one of Europe’s leading parallel traders of medicine, is to acquire the Retail and Hospital (R&H) division of global specialty pharma group A.forall, a portfolio company of global investment firm, The Riverside Company. The Riverside Company invested in A.forall in December 2017. The R&H division of A.forall (previously known as Alter Pharma) consists of its parallel import and distribution activities (Retail) and its hospital shortage management business (Hospital). It sources and distributes both branded and generic pharmaceutical products, including medical devices and consumer health products, to pharmacies, hospitals and wholesalers throughout the Benelux region.
