Private-equity firms Advent and Bain are in talks with entrepreneur José Seripieri Filho, known in the market as Júnior, over a potential purchase of a significant stake in health insurer Amil, people familiar with the matter said. It is not the first time since Seripieri Filho acquired control of the health-plan operator in December 2023 that the two private-equity funds have tried to negotiate with him for a sizable stake in the company. Sources close to the entrepreneur told Valor that the two firms, acting together, want to buy control of Amil—a possibility currently ruled out.
