Sandhills Center and Eastpointe have announced the two behavioral health organizations plan to consolidate, making the combined Local Management Entity-Managed Care Organization the state’s second-largest based on population. Sandhills covers four Piedmont counties — Davidson, Guilford, Randolph and Rockingham — for providers of mental health, substance abuse and developmental-disabilities services. On June 22, 2021, the Davidson County Board of Commissioners adopted a resolution and plan to move behavioral health services from Cardinal Innovations Healthcare to Sandhills Center.
