AlerisLife, one of the nation’s largest senior living providers, is winding down its business in a process that is expected to be completed in the first half of 2026. As part of that process, seven different operators will be taking on the management of 116 properties in the portfolio of Newton, Massachusetts-based Diversified Healthcare Trust (Nasdaq: DHC), the real estate investment trust announced. The communities are currently managed by Five Star Senior Living, the operating division of AlerisLife. AlerisLife also is selling all its assets, including 17 owned communities.
