Biotech dealmaking has hit a “torrid pace” in 2026, with more transactions exceeding $1 billion already completed this year than in all of 2025 combined, Krishna Veeraraghavan, co-head of global M&A at Paul Weiss said in a Bloomberg Television interview. The surge extends beyond blockbuster transactions, with mid-cap companies — themselves former targets — now acquiring firms valued at $1 billion to $2 billion, while private market deal volumes have also climbed sharply. “There’s a whole new universe of buyers out there,” Veeraraghavan said.
