The County of Santa Clara, Calif., has assumed ownership and operations of Regional Medical Center in San Jose, Calif., effective April 1. The hospital is now part of San Jose, Calif.-based Santa Clara Valley Healthcare, which operates the county’s public health system, according to an April 1 news release shared with Becker’s. The county reached a tentative agreement with Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare in August to acquire the hospital for $175 million. The 252-bed facility is one of three county trauma centers.
