According to a new report from the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), cancer mortality rates have seen a significant decline over the last 30 years — but cancer rates are growing, especially among younger people under the age of 50. In 2024, there was an estimated 2,001,140 new cancer cases and 611,720 cancer deaths. The most common diagnoses were for breast, prostate, and lung and bronchus cancers, while the highest number of deaths were associated with lung and bronchus, colorectal, and pancreatic cancers.
