Chicago-based CommonSpirit Health added 90 ambulatory care sites over the past two fiscal years, including 34 across nine states in 2025. “At this point we’re not focused on hospital acquisitions,” CommonSpirit CEO Wright Lassiter III said on an Oct. 1 investor call. “We’re primarily looking at ambulatory growth to meet the needs of our consumers and align with the future of healthcare delivery.” CFO Daniel Morissette said the system is working on a strategic plan that includes a greater ambulatory footprint and more touchpoints outside of its acute care hospitals.
