The market for peptides — heavily hyped but loosely regulated substances made of short amino acid chains — could top $295 billion by 2033 if the Trump administration relaxes manufacturing rules. A Food and Drug Administration advisory panel will evaluate whether to loosen restrictions on compounding — the process of creating customized medications — for seven peptides in a two-day meeting starting Thursday.
