Toledo, OH-based Genacross Lutheran Services intends to join Duluth, MN-based Catholic senior care and services organization Benedictine by the end of the year, Genacross announced Tuesday. “While Genacross is in a stable financial position, the organization had a duty to proactively look to the future to make sure it remains strong and is able to meet the needs of individuals as we move forward,” Genacross President and CEO Rick Marshall said in a statement announcing the signing of a letter of intent. “We realized that we do not have the resources to address our needs and opportunities and initiated a search for an organization that does.” Genacross, 160 years old, serves almost 4,000 people in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan through senior living, post-acute care, and family and youth services. The organization employs more than 700 people.
