Howard Hughes Corp. Sells Woodlands Cancer Care Building as Part of $2B Divestiture Plan

The Howard Hughes Corp. (NYSE: HHC) has sold a local building as part of its plan to divest $2 billion worth of noncore assets. The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center building at 100 Fellowship Drive in The Woodlands was sold for a total purchase price of $115 million, according to a March 18 press release. The deal results in net proceeds of $64 million for Howard Hughes Corp., the developer of the 28,000-acre master-planned community. The buyer was Harrison Street Real Estate Capital, a Chicago-based private real estate investment management firm. M.D. Anderson will remain in the 208,000-square-foot building, which opened last September.
