Louisville, KY-based insurer Humana disclosed that the divestiture of its minority interest in Gentiva will be used to fund its acquisition of MaxHealth, a primary care platform focused on providing high-quality, integrated care to adults and senior patients throughout Florida. “As we have previously noted, we have been pursuing noncore asset divestitures,” James Rechtin, president, CEO and director, said on an earnings call. “We recently announced an agreement to divest our minority interest in Gentiva, which is valued at approximately $900 million. This divestiture will largely fund our recent acquisition of MaxHealth.”
