Rock Regional Hospital in Derby, Kan., has filed a petition for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection to maintain patient care and hospital operations. The filing will allow Rock Regional to pursue a financial restructuring while serving the community without interruption, according to a news release shared with Becker’s. Rock Regional opened in April 2019 and was not eligible for some early federal pandemic relief programs available to established hospitals. Since then, the hospital has faced ongoing operational and financial pressures.
