After years of oversupply, recent data suggests a turnaround could be taking hold for assisted living. Some of the nation’s largest providers expect to gain further momentum in the months ahead, although some areas of the country have yet to benefit from improved market dynamics. Fourth quarter 2019 data from the National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care (NIC) posits that the supply-demand imbalance that had a detrimental impact on assisted living occupancy in recent years is beginning to right itself, and will eventually favor demand as the baby boomers enter the senior housing space and age into assisted living.
