This Genomics Company Says It’s Considering Acquiring 23andMe

Could an obscure company called Nucleus Genomics be the answer to 23andMe’s recent troubles? On Friday, Kian Sadeghi, founder of New York-based Nucleus, posted on the company’s Substack that Nucleus was “considering the possibility of making a public offer” to acquire 23andMe. The post also noted that the offer would be “contingent on financing, as well as initiating and executing a successful negotiation.” The announcement comes on the heels of a week of bad news for 23andMe, with the board resigning en masse on Tuesday, leaving co-founder Anne Wojcicki as the sole remaining board member. Wojcicki has said in recent months that she’s considering taking the Nasdaq-listed company private.
