A rapidly expanding Timonium mental health network has acquired a Virginia psychology practice to expand its inpatient treatment arm and push into more rural areas. Bloom Health Centers acquired Richmond, Virginia-based Insight Physicians on July 1 and added the company’s roughly 25 staff members to its 325-person team. Insight mostly focuses on providing staff to treat patients at hospitals in Virginia, something Bloom offers as well. The acquisition extends a streak of explosive growth for Bloom, which launched in 2021 with the backing of Chicago private equity firm New Harbor Capital. The company now has 25 outpatient centers, 10 inpatient locations where staff work with hospitals and seven embedded locations where staff work with primary care offices.
