The University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) has welcomed the former Greenwood Leflore Hospital into its health system, following its acquisition of the institution on August 1, 2026. The hospital is now part of UMMC’s network of community hospitals in Madison County, Grenada and Holmes County under the name UMMC Greenwood. The goal was to protect citizens of Greenwood, Leflore County and the adjacent Delta communities’ access to hospitals and emergency care.
