This year could see record acquisitions in skilled nursing, assisted living and memory care — even greater than the 7% year-over-year increase seen for senior housing in 2025. “I think that there were still some obstacles to get over in terms of economic uncertainty, finding the right operators. There was a lot of focus on finding premium operators,” attorney Cindy M. Thomas, a shareholder in the real estate practice group in Polsinelli’s New York office, said of 2025 to the McKnight’s Business Daily. “So, I think that’s a good indication that in 2026, where we don’t necessarily have some of those same concerns, you’re going to see even more acquisition activity going on in the senior housing space.”
