Dealmakers anticipate a return to a more traditional health care antitrust environment post-election. With less risk of deals being challenged or parties having to abandon the transaction under a new administration, “valuations will pop accordingly,” a private equity consultant says. “I expect to see a ‘back-to-the-future’ shift in the government’s approach to deal-making under the new administration,” says McDermott Will & Emery partner Daniel Powers. “Tough deals will still face legitimate scrutiny, but novel theories or areas of enforcement are less likely to gain a footing,” he adds.
