Senate Democrats unveiled a list of health policy goals Thursday aimed at lowering costs and reining in private insurance companies, Kelly reports. In a “Dear Colleague” letter posted Thursday, Finance Committee ranking member Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) and 11 other Senate Democrats laid out a “bold vision” to reverse Republican health care cuts, including the roughly $1 trillion in cuts to Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act enacted in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. With a Republican majority in Congress, Democrats have slim odds of implementing their health policy agenda this year — but the letter suggests the party’s health care messaging heading into the midterms will focus on affordability and Republican policies they say harm Americans.
