Avesi Partners, a lower midmarket private-equity firm launched in 2021, has raised more capital with its second fund, and has done so under negotiated terms that will allow it to earn a higher share of fund profits if it meets certain performance hurdles. Avesi Partners Fund II LP closed with $1.35 billion in commitments, including the firm’s own general partner commitment. The final tally ended up exceeding the size of Avesi’s first fund by more than half. The debut fund was closed in 2021 with an initial $875 million but was later increased to $884 million as more professionals were added to the team, prompting the firm to expand its own contribution to it, according to Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer Chris Laitala.
