Cityblock Health is in talks to acquire fellow General Catalyst-backed primary care startup Homeward Health. The proposed acquisition would combine two health tech startups providing primary care services, as well as support for non-medical factors that affect health outcomes, like getting access to food, transportation and housing. Cityblock works with lower-income patients on Medicaid and Medicare plans, while Homeward serves patients in rural areas mostly on Medicare Advantage. Both companies have deep ties to General Catalyst, which is following a familiar playbook of combining companies from its health tech portfolio.
