The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has officially announced its indefinite suspension of a national revalidation effort in new guidance. The document also formally acknowledges problems with the digital Provider Enrollment, Chain, and Ownership System that may have led to some partially completed forms being deleted. Every federally funded nursing home in the US is expected to report expanded ownership and investor information through the revalidation program, which has now seen its deadline pushed back four times. The final deadline had been set for Jan. 1, but CMS notified provider associations that it planned to suspend that “indefinitely” given reported technical issues.
