One of the Louisville area’s most well-known startups has been acquired. It was announced New Albany, Indiana-based RxLightning would be acquired by Columbus, Ohio-based CoverMyMeds. RxLightning — a company that has specialized in expediting patient support program enrollment in the health tech space — was acquired along with FastAuth, a startup based out of Northeast Ohio that has built a platform to automate and optimize the medical prior authorization process, per a news release. CoverMyMeds, founded in 2008, was acquired by Irving, Texas-based McKesson (NYSE: MCK), a pharmaceutical distribution and health tech company, in 2017, for approximately $1.1 billion.
