A Burlington, North Carolina-based lab services company acquired a Birmingham area medical-focused laboratory’s assets and is taking over its operations. Labcorp finalized an agreement to acquire selected assets of Birmingham’s Lab Works on Nov. 12 to take over operations of Lab Works’ molecular testing division as well as equipment and all other types of lab testing done through the company. According to Lab Works Managing Partner and Head of Operations Adam Earl, Labcorp will keep around 80% of Lab Works’ employees on with the acquisition and continue offering the same services as well.
