Meharry Medical College just added eight new medical clinics to its network. School leaders hailed the deal as a way to both expand Meharry’s reach and training opportunities, along with creating new revenue streams for the institution. The clinics serve more than 25,000 patients across the greater Nashville and Memphis areas and employ 172 people, including 40 health care providers, according to a news release from Meharry. The clinics were previously owned by Sanitas USA Inc. in a joint venture with BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee.
