An estimated 311,879 fewer individuals will be eligible for Medicaid coverage for home care services by 2034 due to eligibility changes in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. The finding was one of many insights in the inaugural 2026 Medicaid Home Care Chartbook released by the National Alliance for Care at Home and the Research Institute for Home Care. “By 2034, we project that there will be 311,879 fewer individuals enrolled in Medicaid who receive home care services due to HR1’s changes, a substantial 9.4% reduction,” the report found.
