The percentage of dentists affiliated with private equity has nearly doubled over the course of six years. The percentage of private equity-affiliated dentists increased from 6.6% of dentists in 2015 to 12.8% in 2021, according to a new paper from the American Dental Association Health Policy Institute. Researchers determined in the study that the dental provider market is attractive to private equity firms due to the market being highly fragmented.
