QuikTrip has agreed to sell its MedWise Urgent Care business to healthcare provider Saint Francis Health System, a spokesperson from the convenience retailer confirmed to C-Store Dive. The deal includes QuikTrip’s nine MedWise facilities in Oklahoma, nearly all of which are located near the retailer’s headquarters in Tulsa. A sale price was not disclosed, but QuikTrip said it will direct the proceeds back to MedWise employees through avenues like retention bonuses. This marks the end of a six-year experiment for QuikTrip, which opened its first urgent care centers during the thick of the COVID-19 pandemic.
