Recently, the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association (ASCA) responded to a request for information from federal health authorities, stating in a comment letter that it believes surgery centers are not the best place to test episode-based payment models. But that section of a proposed rule is far from the only regulatory issue that ASCA is tracking – and seeking to influence – on behalf of ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs).
