Corvallis, Ore.-based Samaritan Health Services has received Oregon Health Authority approval for its proposed affiliation with Tacoma, Wash.-based MultiCare Health System. The approval allows the systems to clear the remaining legal and administrative hurdles to close the transaction, according to an Aug. 24 MultiCare news release. The affiliation is not final, and the organizations will operate independently until the transaction’s expected Oct. 1 closing.
