Select Medical Holdings Corporation (NYSE:SEM) announced that the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act expired for its proposed acquisition by an investment fund affiliated with Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe. The waiting period ended at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on April 27, 2026, according to a press release statement. A wholly owned subsidiary of WCAS XIV, L.P. plans to acquire Select Medical as part of a consortium led by Robert A. Ortenzio, the company’s Executive Chairman and Co-Founder, and Martin F. Jackson, Senior Executive Vice President of Strategic Finance and Operations.
