On May 6, 2025, Indiana state enacted HB 1666, which modifies Indiana’s existing transaction law to exempt certain practitioner-owned practices, grants the Attorney General additional authority to investigate health care entity market concentration, and requires health care entities to report ownership information. Earlier versions of the bill would have substantially revamped the existing state transaction clearance regime (IC § 25-1-8.5-4), but these changes were omitted in the final version of the legislation. It will be important to continue to monitor Indiana, as the legislature may make another run at enacting more significant reforms with respect to the state’s clearance regime next year.
