VITAS Healthcare, the nation’s largest provider of hospice and palliative care services, reported stronger than expected earnings and admissions growth during the first quarter of 2026, according to a company earnings report. Net income for VITAS grew by 4.4% to $52.2 million while revenue increased by 3.1% to $420 million in the quarter. VITAS admissions totaled 19,394 during the first quarter, an increase of 6.9% compared to the same quarter last year. One tailwind for VITAS: It may have successfully navigated the Medicare cap billing limitation in Florida, which negatively affected the company’s revenue in 2025, company officials said.
